Mark and I have always felt that giving back to the local community is an important part of owning a business and find that true happiness consists not just in personal achievement, but also in holistic living and giving back to others.
This past month, Synergy D&C sponsored the Special Olympics & Down Syndrome Association of Northern Virginia (DSANV) 2012 golf tournament. As a sponsor, we helped raise almost $55,000 for the organizations, which help athletes develop social skills, build self-esteem, and learn to work as a team. The two non-profits have held a special place in our hearts for the past couple years, as Mark has served as treasurer and also as a golf coach for young athletes. His current pursuit is finding a way to provide custom golf clubs to the athletes, as donated items are often too big.
Our entire Synergy family is proud to be involved in giving back to the local community, and we are already looking forward to next year’s tournament!
