Kitchen renovations can be mysterious, even intriguing. Clients always want to know how it all comes together. Do the floors go in before the cabinetry or after? How about the appliances? Are the countertops cut on-site or at the fabricator? For people that don’t do this everyday, it can be really interesting to see it all come together.
Now I don’t know about you, but I’m a visual person. Even when designing, I anxiously wait for the 3D images to render so I can actually “see” and “feel” how the space is going to evolve. Our clients are the exact same way. They love seeing the 3D renderings to get a sense of how everything will look once it’s pulled together.
What’s the best part of my job? Watching it all come together in our client’s home. Everyday something else is accomplished and little by little, day-by-day, the new space takes shape. During our Weekly Progress Meeting, I get to see the look on our clients’ faces when they see what’s been done and it never gets old.
In a previous post “Kitchen Remodel Inspired By a Dollar?”, I shared our client’s inspiration as we renovated their space. In this time-lapsed video, you’ll get to see first hand the progression of us removing their peninsula, creating an island with plenty of seating, removing a built-in pantry and replacing it with a pantry cabinet and of course, new appliances, plumbing, lighting and flooring throughout the kitchen and family room.
Wasn’t that fun to watch? We certainly appreciate the time it took our team to put this together (not to mention all the work on the actual renovation)! We think it’s great to share some of the behind the scenes footage to take the mystery out of what we do.
What do you find most mysterious about renovating? We’d love to hear from you!
