Entertaining and spending time with family and friends is high on the priority list for these homeowners, but the existing layout and dark finishes of their old Kitchen did not do justice to their beautiful Herndon home. They were ready to open things up between the Kitchen and Sunroom (resulting in a much better flow on the main level), improve functionality and brighten things up with the finishes.Â
In addition to removing the wall and cabinets separating the Kitchen from the Sunroom, we reconfigured the space to relocate the sink to the back perimeter wall, flanked by a stylish refrigerator column on the right and a freezer column to the left.
The Pantry also got a makeover to better integrate it with the Kitchen. In addition to using the same cabinetry, we replaced the door to the closet Pantry with more convenient sliding barn doors for a modern look and easier access. The finishing touch: not one but two kitchen islands providing tons of prep space and welcoming places to gather. The Kitchen now seamlessly flows into the Sunroom and Family Room and helps connect the main level to the gorgeous outdoor entertainment areas and pool.Â
We also remodeled the Primary Bathroom, turning it into a transitional relaxation haven. See our project gallery for photos of that remodel here.
