Nestled in a leafy Reston neighborhood, our clients live in a beautiful custom-built house with lots of mature landscaping and green space for children to play. The homeowners remodeled the Kitchen when they moved in, but it was time to turn their attention to updating the rest of the home with modern – but family-friendly – finishes.
In the Primary Suite on the main level, we started in the bathroom. The oversized brown jacuzzi tub, small shower cubicle and dated finishes throughout had to go. Like many of our clients, having a tub in the Primary Bathroom was not on the ‘must-have’ list, so we created a gorgeous double shower with marble tile and champagne bronze fixtures instead, added a large double vanity, installed a ‘wow’ floor and even had room for a built-in linen cabinet. The bathroom is now a luxurious retreat. The bedroom was also updated and custom closet organization added to the walk-in closet.
The Family Room and Entry Foyer were also updated. Modern Viewrail cable railing adds contemporary flair on the staircase and makes a statement that can be seen from the main living area. A built-in media center was added to the Family Room, and although the brick fireplace was retained, it was regrouted with a lighter mortar so it blends effortlessly with the rest of the finishes. New flooring was also added throughout.
On the second level, two kids’ bathrooms were remodeled and turned into transitional but age-appropriate beauties. Both bedrooms were also repainted. In the Basement, the Guest Bathroom was also totally transformed.
Other changes (not shown) included remodeling the Home Office and adding beautiful new built-ins. Lastly, not to be forgotten, the Powder Room also received an upgrade in keeping with the other beautiful bathrooms in this home.
