Our Approach

Using a design-build approach, where the same contractor that designs your kitchen renovation builds it, we help ensure your project is as you envisioned from start to finish. This approach drives single-point accountability and eliminates the hassle in identifying and selecting the right designer, builder and tradespeople for your home makeover.

After you determine your budget, we will work with you to make sure you don’t encounter the common financial remodeling and renovating pitfalls that can come with projects. We will help you every step of the way to create an open, inviting and efficient space that you can be proud of.

Our design-build team dedicates their talents to your renovation in a way that makes you stand out from similar houses in your neighborhood and gives you the relaxing, beautiful environment that will add energy to your life.

The Renovation Roadmap

Your Personal Guide to an Exceptional Remodeling Experience

Have you ever wondered why renovations go wrong?

  • Contractor says your kitchen will be completed in three weeks, and two months later there’s still no end in sight…
  • You go with the “less expensive” guy, only to be given a stack of change orders that eventually cost you 40% more than what you agreed to…
  • You feel like your own project manager because no one’s on site everyday to answer the subcontractor’s questions…

We understand that the key to a great customer experience is having a clear pathway and strong synergy between the design AND the construction. We know that when there’s a clear path ahead of you, you can have a stress-free and fun renovating journey and actually Renovate Happy.

Camille DeLew

Interior Designer

Camille fell in love with design at an early age. Constantly changing her bedroom wall color, she found it intriguing how different the room could look with a touch of color and texture.

After a successful career in the Advertising and Publishing fields, she decided to use her creativity, eye for color and detail, project management and business skills to pursue her passion. She furthered her design education, gained experience working at a local design-build firm and then set up her own interior design company before finding her home at Synergy Design and Construction.

A true design enthusiast, she believes the best-designed spaces are those that feel like you — spaces that are not only beautiful to look at, but also comfortable to live in. She's passionate about mixing color, pattern, texture and personal touches to create unified interiors. Getting to know clients is one of her favorite aspects of the job, allowing her to personalize projects with beautiful results.

Originally from New York, she now resides in Northern Virginia with her husband and two children. When she's not transforming client homes, she'll most likely be cooking, decorating her own home or spending time on the soccer field.

Barbara Doyle

Project Leader

Barbara grew up in a rural town outside Pittsburgh, PA. She spent much of her free time in
the vegetable and flower gardens with her father, in the kitchen with her mother; or later,
toiling away at the sewing machine or in the workshop exploring what would become her
future passion; design and build.

After art and interior design school, she specialized in marble tile and carved marble
fixtures, custom artisanal porcelain and one-off designs that established her in the high-end
design market to include renovating one of America’s Castles.

Barbara then married the love of her life and spent the next 20 years on a professional
adventure that led her across the country learning regional histories, design trends and
those subtle cultural design elements that turn a paper design into the embodiment of the
client’s needs, wants and personality.

She focused on kitchen and bath restoration, remodeling and new construction; from
cottage to commercial, one-off designs and even leading design-build teams delivering
1,800 new kitchens per year. Through this rare professional journey, Barbara mastered all
aspects of design, material selection, importation, manufacturing, product lines, transport,
construction and customer service from the East coast through the Midwest. In this 20-year
professional journey, Barbara saw what worked, what didn’t and how to avoid problems
while bringing the client’s vision to life.

In 2001, Barbara made Northern Virginia her home. A country girl at heart, Loudoun strikes
a hard-to-find balance of history, nature, community and culture—an eclectic and diverse
setting. She lives in Ashburn with her husband. Barbara enjoys spending time in her
kitchen baking and cooking, outside playing in the dirt in her flower gardens, taking quiet
drives in the country exploring nature, visiting local wineries, and getting together with family and friends.

He didn’t anticipate he’d follow in their footsteps, but he soon found out how much he liked the work and his love of carpentry grew from there.

Joey has worked on a variety of projects and all aspects of home remodeling in addition to carpentry, including experience in electrical, plumbing and drywall. He has a passion for trim carpentry and finish work. He takes great pride in seeing the end product of a project and knowing it is the result of his hard work. He has also worked on new construction, working on the kitchen and bathrooms of a multi-million dollar home in Leesburg. Joey now lives in Herndon with his wife. In his free time, he enjoys restoring and modifying his rare muscle car and loves learning auto mechanics. He and his wife also enjoy spending time outdoors camping, hiking, biking and drone photography.

After taking some time to gain experience in landscaping and tree maintenance, he decided to return to carpentry and became a full time member of Charlie's team. Wind the clock on a few years, and Charlie is now his father-in-law - and Synergy's Project Manager!

Seeing how a remodeling project evolves from start to finish and delivering a beautiful final product are David's favorite parts of the job. He enjoys working on the whole process and has experience in all aspects of carpentry from framing to fine finishes.

Ready to put his skills to work in his free time, David and his wife, Samantha, are currently in the early stages of building their own farm home. When not hard at work, he enjoys hiking, camping, fishing and being outdoors with family and friends.
