Nestled near Lake Anne in Reston, Virginia, this charming 1970s “patio home” had been lovingly lived in for over 40 years. While full of memories, the home’s layout had become increasingly cramped and outdated, prompting our client to embark on a thoughtful renovation designed to bring comfort, functionality, and beauty to each space. Our comprehensive remodel included updates to the kitchen, hall bath, powder room, primary bath, paint, flooring, and stairs—all with an eye on transforming the home into a legacy to pass down to the next generation.
To complete the upstairs transformation, we installed new Norwegian Maple LVP flooring in the hallway and primary bedroom, adding warmth and continuity to the private spaces of the home. The primary bedroom walls were painted in Benjamin Moore’s “Pale Oak” matte finish, creating a soft and serene backdrop. Doors and trim were refreshed with “Baby Fawn” semi-gloss, while first-floor trim and doors were coated in “Dune White” for a cohesive and updated feel throughout the home. This renovation beautifully honors the original character of the 1970s home while addressing the client’s desire for an open, updated layout that feels comfortable and livable for the long haul. Every space—once cramped and outdated—is now bright, functional, and ready to be passed down to the next generation.
