This Reston home had great bones and a lot of personality, but the finishes were dated and a load-bearing wall between the Kitchen and Dining Room made the spaces feel small and closed-off. This home remodel was all about breathing a breath of fresh, modern air throughout the main level and opening up the floor plan.Â
The result is a stunning first floor that brings this home right up to date with an open floor plan and a design aesthetic that is more in keeping with the contemporary architecture of the home. The spaces now flow from one to the next, make better use of available space and result in the Kitchen feeling twice the size. Although the design is more modern, use of wood-look base cabinets keep it feeling warm and we can’t say enough about that gorgeous backsplash tile!
