A Custom Kitchen Designed for Everyday Ease
The kitchen served as the foundation of the remodel and experienced the most significant change. To improve circulation and create a more intuitive layout, an entry from the hallway was widened and walls and peninsula cabinetry separating the kitchen from the family room was removed. While making sure to retain enough windows to bathe the space in natural light, several extra windows were removed to improve the cabinetry footprint and work triangle. Structural updates to support the removal of additional walls allowed the space to open fully while supporting a layout that feels natural and easy to move through.
A large island now anchors the kitchen, offering generous storage, comfortable seating, and durable quartz kitchen countertops suited for everyday use. Custom Cabico painted cabinetry extends to the ceiling, creating a refined, tailored look, while warm wood accents and floating shelves soften the space and add balance.
Premium kitchen appliances, including a 36-inch induction range, built-in ovens, and a counter-depth refrigerator, support efficient cooking. A full-height tile backsplash highlights the new exposed hood and introduces subtle texture, while layered lighting (under-cabinet, recessed, and sculptural pendant fixtures) ensures the kitchen feels bright and welcoming throughout the day. Refinished hardwood floors throughout the main level complete the transformation, tying each space together with a lighter, refreshed finish.
A Bright and Functional Walk-In Pantry
The former breakfast area of the kitchen became a spacious walk-in pantry that combines style and purpose. Base cabinets feature a built-in doggie station, a prep sink, a trash pull-out, and open shelving for flexible storage.
Floating wood shelves with integrated LED lighting add warmth, while a 24-inch fridge/freezer provides additional cold storage. A new casement window takes the place of a former patio door, and fills the space with natural light, allowing the pantry to feel like a seamless extension of the kitchen rather than a hidden utility space.
A Mudroom Nook Designed for Real Life
Also borrowing some space from the former breakfast area, the previously narrow hallway now houses a fully-functional mudroom nook designed to support everyday comings and goings. The new recessed area is outfitted with custom cabinetry, a built-in bench, coat hooks, warm wood shelving, and a slatted wood accent wall.
Coordinated flooring and additional lighting complete the space, resulting in an organized drop zone that feels intentional, polished, and easy to use.
A Cohesive, Elevated Home Design
Every element of the kitchen, pantry, and mudroom was selected to enhance brightness, functionality, and flow. Cabinetry, lighting, and flooring continuity work together to create a main level that feels unified and elevated while supporting the rhythms of daily life.
The result is a home that blends thoughtful design with practical living. The space feels warm, connected, and ready for real-life moments, all while maintaining a beautifully cohesive aesthetic.
